@nyx @Mondobizarrro that's true, certainly happened to me. But sometimes that's what one needs in life

@nyx @risperdoll @Mondobizarrro I've been focusing more on Mā Durga recently for this reason even though my true love is Kali. Durga Mā is supposedly gentler. Plus Kali came out of her according to the Devi Mahatmyam so there's only like a degree of separation

@unmind @Mondobizarrro @risperdoll I only have a sort of tangential familiarity with Kali

@nyx @Mondobizarrro @risperdoll @unmind she brings enlightenment. Kalika bhakti is a great way to raise kundalini shakti. if you want a form of Mahadevi who will bring you material prosperity worship Sri.

@nyx @Mondobizarrro @risperdoll I basically do too. I know the story about how she drank Raktabija's blood and how Shiva/Kaal Bhairava had to let her step on him to keep her from destroying the entire universe but I hardly know anything about her. Most of the info I find about her online is like, new agey stuff that's hard to distinguish from the real sourced info i'm interested in

@georgia @Mondobizarrro @nyx @risperdoll i would like to find some success in following my dreams, I guess. I don't know if I'm ready for enlightenment and the intensity of Mā Kali frightens me a little bit. I've heard anyway that I should do Bhairava sadhana as a prerequisite for Kali sadhana

@unmind @Mondobizarrro @nyx @risperdoll I can see why youd be interested in Bhairava. Hes very significant in the Kaula tradition, and Kashmir Shaivism owes a lot to this tantra. Bhairava is like the aspect of Ultimate Reality (Para Brahman) that is the void, Hes a form of Shiva yes but also refers to a state of pure consciousness reached through yoga devoid of any movement of the Shakti, the "place where the Shakti trembles" I once heard it called. Meanwhile Kali is like the aspect of Ultimate Reality (Para Brahman) that is pure chaos, the ultimate expression of the Parashakti. of course, an even higher truth is that Bhairava and Bhairavi (His consort and another aspect of Adi Parashakti) are one, both are pure Purusha.

@unmind @Mondobizarrro @nyx @risperdoll there are many tantric texts that take the form of a dialogue between Bhairava and Bhairavi. kinda like all the Shiva puranas that have Shiva talking to Uma.
