with that said I read a decent article by halimede (i know...) that indicates the 'contrarian' insecurity of indentifying purple (in strong opposition to pink) as a favourite color that I actually quite like. a lot of the time trying to represent with this shit at all opens you up to looking way too insecure in general because even though its correct to identify with womanhood, the presuppositional symbolic identifiers with womanhood are kind of awkward and insecure seeming.

Like heres the thing you have to remember not all subconcious criticisms are either unfair or worth overindicating. Nyx makes a big deal of identifying with purple but 'in a chemical way'. You probe at any one of us too much and most anything we do is going to look embarrassing. Are we being cool or are we just doing over intricate 'not like the other girls' shit?

This whole conversation is a lot more on my mind also because my goofy ass girlcadre put the trans flag on the windowsill, so now I'm in a pickle. This is going to be exclusively my room soon but if I take that flag down and replace it with something more obscure it will come off like a strange sort of concession or over indication. 'Did the weird tranny neighbors move out? Oh no they are still there, oh I guess they just...got weirder.'

And a chuunibyou." and you realize that you could just order every single colour in ascending levels of not-like-other-girls-ness until you double back to pink actually being the colour that's the least like other girls and you realize the article is just another thinly veiled excuse for the writer to fetishistically taxonomize women

@Erato_Heti @FiringSquadsEnjoyer @MURRUMUR its useful for communication to others, its the reason i wear a variant on my person all the time, i just wish to be an arrangement of symbology myself and that flag is there to balance out other aspects of how i dress, i wouldnt say i resent it or anything but i kinda want us as a minority to have more semi coherent culture that even some of the least connected ones have access to instead of the current state i perceive to be there being a massive gap between those of us online/offline with one of the few shared things being that flag, though even the online bits on their own could stand a long hard look at some of the most proliferated bits instead of just uncritically proliferating them further, but most i can influence is my immeadiate surroundings so i know what i will be doing

tho i get not wanting branding on diy, it should be optional not the only thing if it did exist
