Oh this drama is getting spicy. Someone made a Linus jet tracker website.

They seem to be banning people who are sharing the public flight data from the LTT subreddit.

Lmao

Can’t wait for the next WAN Show where they are going to try and justify this stupid decision. Pure comedy gold.

@SuperDicq
Youtube channel having a private jet is baffling

@Wiz @SuperDicq He already bought a house large enough to be considered a mansion and a yacht (owned by LMG of course, because taxes), so why not a jet at that point.

@mischievoustomato @SuperDicq @Wiz Yeah, he's living well while his employees live in Tokyo-esque apartments, regularly quit in waves, and payed the CTO of FloatPlane and his business partner from the start so little that he lived with his girlfriend with a roommate for years. Truly a win from his part.

@phnt @SuperDicq @mischievoustomato @Wiz in the realm of tech you either buy a private jet and get an Asian wife or you make videos saying "breakfast is ruined" and stop making hardware videos

@sendpaws @SuperDicq @Wiz @mischievoustomato I mean what is even the point of making hardware videos when consumers can't even buy it and it sucks anyway. At least the filler is pretty good quality unlike LTT which has been slop since Channel Super Fun stopped being a thing and the original employees quit.

@phnt @SuperDicq @Wiz does he *own* the jet and the yacht, or is he just renting/leasing it?

@phnt @SuperDicq @Wiz is he retarded? you don't buy a jet or a yacht, the maintenance will suck you dry. Most billionaires aren't buying their jets either

@phnt @SuperDicq @mischievoustomato @Wiz What is the point of making car review videos? You're never going to be able to afford anything more than an Altima, and you'll look like vid related driving it instead of like a rapper.

@feld @SuperDicq @Wiz To put it plainly, he's not known for making good financial decisions.

@phnt @feld @SuperDicq @Wiz Did some digging, it's C-FXOO, and it was not cheap.
https://grndcntrl.net/articles/influence-air-linus-tech-tips-private-jet-acquisition
https://www.aircraft.com/aircraft/243027623/c-fxoo-1990-dassault-falcon-900b

What's worth noting with every single private aircraft is if you think the costs to buy it are cheap or expensive, the real cost is when it needs repairs, ADs, and upgrades either for safety or compliance like hush kits.

@sendpaws @phnt @SuperDicq @Wiz smart rich people have a rule: if it flies, floats, or f*cks -- rent it, don't buy it

@feld @SuperDicq @sendpaws @Wiz That saying is even mentioned in the video. https://youtu.be/zGoIY37ZtDQ?t=1108

Also at the start, it was suggested that buying price was less than $5.5M, so the estimate here is pretty good. At best it was probably high $4M.

@feld @phnt @SuperDicq @Wiz jay leno too, his car collection is legendary. When his Turbine car broke or some shit they actually got engineers at the descendant of the company that made the engine for it to work on rebuilding it.

@Ree @phnt @feld @SuperDicq @Wiz the meme with people leasing cars that are fancy is because after a few years many were not made to last under use.

Case in point: the BMW M3 V8 and M5 V10, both are literally timebombs due to rod bearings and tend to bait stupid car youtubers who think it won't happen to them.

@sendpaws @phnt @feld @SuperDicq @Wiz well when my parents bought a new car it was just as much buying a used one 5 years out of date because it was only few thousand dollars cheaper. But I can see buying used if you could fix it But modern cars you can't really

@Ree @phnt @feld @SuperDicq @Wiz It's not even about modern or vintage or electronic bullshit, this is all mechanical failure.

Once you get into cars that cost a certain amount, the repair costs never got lower because you have to deal with lower production and bespoke parts used specifically on a specific car. Unless it's something like a Ford GT or Corvette that reuses parts from cheaper cars.

@Ree @phnt @feld @SuperDicq @Wiz Trucks are easy actually; there's tons of places to get specific parts for them, many in junkyards, generic engines and shit like the GM bellhousing patterns, etc.

@sendpaws @feld @SuperDicq @Ree @Wiz If you buy BMW, you kinda deserve it. It's the grown up cool kids brand. Same with the late 90's early 00's Mercedes Benz E and S classes.

@sendpaws @phnt @SuperDicq @Ree @Wiz my uncle would get a whatever class BMW and trade it in after they stop giving you free oil changes (which he said was getting near $1000)

@phnt @feld @SuperDicq @Ree @Wiz bmws lower end cars aren't so bad. It's their V8 engines always leave a cloud or smoke because the head gasket blew.

Their new ones are crazy reliable or so I've heard.

@feld @phnt @SuperDicq @Ree @Wiz I want an older one because the steering on those is literally top notch.

Yeah, I'm not trusting that at all.

If BMW manages to spec falling apart needle bearings for starters after a year or two of use, and forget to recalculate rear axles after increasing engine power leading to destroyed axles under almost full torque, I'm not trusting them. Both are relatively new issues from the last 5 years.

@phnt @feld @SuperDicq @Ree @Wiz I'm sure it's because the current B engines aren't blowing up like the N20 engines were, and the ZF 8HP transmissions are solid.
