i used to claim i didn't believe in good or evil in a nietzschian way but that was obviously just a cope because thinking you believe something isn't the same as believing it. now i kinda believe in good and evil but since both are expressions of God idk what I'm supposed to believe about them. all i know is I have to be true to myself or it's no better than perishing (and yet)

@unmind Brahman transcends good and evil but this isnt in like a "neither good nor evil and both good and evil" kinda way, its deeper than that. part of calling Brahman "sat" is not just calling it existence or truth, its calling it good, with the assertion that only goodness truly exists and evil is illusory.

@georgia i mostly agree with the sentiment but idk if i agree philosophically especially since God is both transcendent (shiva) and immanent (shakti). the lotus sutra says that because all beings are buddhas putting on a performance for the benefit of sentient beings, that even someone as evil as devadatta was only apparently evil, since he too will be a buddha so i can see why someone would say evil was illusory but on a sort of basic surface level the things i think are good and evil are all God. I guess it's for the benefit of sentient beings to then think that this means all things are really good. idk anyway

@unmind evil is just part of Gods lila yes, and in that regard is created by God along with maya. but God is perfectly good and upholds dharma and is averse to adharma. and all things proceed from God and cannot occur without Gods will. and yet God gives us free will which is where evil comes from...
