the fre db dump is only 2 gigs yet it transforms into possibly a double digit gigabyte big db when it is finished importing

anyway pleroma is compiled and it should be ready when the db finishes importing onto the pleroma rig

@kirby This stuff is why having a single user instance has never been appealing enough to go through with. I'm grateful there are people who will put up with it, but man, I'm not one of them.

@manfromhuh @kirby it's not THAT hard, but you'll need a bit of wisdom in order to.. know what you're doing i guess. pleroma is a piece of software with strange quirks that have been rather annoying to plow through

@manfromhuh @kirby the arcane knowledge thing shouldn't be a requirement to administer your instance in unusual circumstances, but the pleroma documentation has been shown in the past to be either lacking or straight up wrong.. so you end up being forced to talk to people in order to enlighten yourself on what the hell is going on with your instance

apparently the situation is improving a bit but it's like ehhh i mean if i could use pleroma fe with a different backend thats not a .net abomination id consider trying it out

@manfromhuh @kirby pleroma is elixir, i am just throwing shade at another fedi server which happens to provide support for a fork of akkoma fe

@chris @kirby Ah. Understandable. To be fair JS backends aren't much better of a choice.
