when youre a historian truth is what you offer for the public good. you shouldnt be motivated by nationalism or even anti-nationalism, you ought to let people tell their stories but still should look at them with a critical eye, without caring about any particular overarching narrative except what really happened.

@georgia i was just checking to make sure it applied to the holocaust as well. to me this is just blatantly obvious and shouldn't be seen as provocative unless there's some internal conflict happening. you know what they say "history is written by the victors" and the holocaust narrative is one of the critical pieces of propaganda used to justify so much that's gone wrong since ww2
