a woman asked me if one could make "matzo ball subs" (like instead of meatball) and you can imagine how I answered that

@georgia foods that would make nutraloaf seem like a five star meal (surprised no one has tried yet)

@georgia I feel that's like, half of traditional ashkenazi dishes tbqh which is why I'm not shocked someone seems to have actually made a matzo ball sandwich: https://www.instagram.com/p/DR7ZjOcESL7/?utm_source=ig_web_copy_link&igsh=NTc4MTIwNjQ2YQ==

@georgia gefilte fish, potato knishes, kishke, cholent... all with artery-effacing amounts of grease. baruch hashem that you can't mix poutine with meat because your average bochur would weigh fifty pounds more

@risperdoll I like some ashkenazi foods. chopped liver is controversial but great when done right (by my unfortunately bestroked nana), kreplach is great too. and brisket. however youve also got stuff like cow tongue, cow brain, and fucking gelfite fish. highly unserious foods. and because we were in diaspora and didnt have sesame or olive oil we force fed ducks to get duck cooking fat. and the rebbes were like "the duck likes this actually".

@risperdoll might have been chickens not ducks, my knowledge is from highly dubious ancestral blood memory (aka from reading it on wikipedia ten years ago)
