Youtube got the algorithm so there’s often like 20-40 viewers on there, but barely anyone chats.
While on Owncast there’s like 5 viewers but the chat is like super active.
Same with videos I post on Owncast.
My videos get like 12 views but 2 comments. The exact same video on Youtube gets 3000 views but only 12 comments.

People are either nodding out, or in their own Discord groups, giving you the cold shoulder, only talking to a few people, etc. Or worse; you get people who will blow up on you if you interact with them.
Internet artists get few interactions now because talking to them is like posting on e621, it's a roulette of getting blocked or the artist ragequitting social media because of you.
