@georgia that probably explains why Jews and Greeks got along pretty well. Really pandora didn’t really do anything wrong in the Greek story the gods other than Prometheus just fucking hate humans and endlessly devise plans to further our downfall.

@technolyze if I were brought up ancient greek I would almost certainly be a plebbit atheist who viewed all religion as superstition. their religion sucks that much.

@georgia I think it’s good for its mythology, also from like research on day to day practice it was much more like nature worship and like Japanese Shinto or something similar. Like Hermes was literally rocks you would see and gathering rocks was considered a favor for farmers, there would be like rock piles and that was Hermes and sometimes food would be left there

@georgia the whole Zeus thing is funny as it’s seen in modern times via the Athenian mythology and poems that was passed on, but like at the time like every mountain settlement had a “Zeus “ and that mountain was where storm clouds started .
