when you view jesus as a vicarious atonement because he was a literal ideal human sacrifice its kinda gross and validates a kind of substitionary punishment as a generally valid thing instead of validating the act of devotion which makes sacrifices work in the first place, I prefer "this avatara literally experienced the punishment for our sins on the cross, which we now dont suffer as much from if we practice yeshua bhakti. this is one of many forms of worship that worship the one God"

you can even omit the last sentence if you like but its important to say that all sacrifices are valid by the same principle, jesus sacrifice is a kind of sacrifice of knowledge where you view the whole sacrifice as brahman. no one can actually bear your sins (except God who controls karma), its just the devotion which makes it work! not the similarity to animal sacrifice which is held as valid like the passover sacrifice of a lamb. I do think God chose to die on passover on purpose though for the symbolism.
