@scathach @luce-anon never mind dont read that it was just the first article I found about latria vs dulia. but the whole idea is there are degrees of reverence, just like one can revere a wise elder and their belongings without viewing them as being God. luce probably has a better source.

@scathach when we venerate a relic, we are not doing it out of believing that saint or object has any power of it's own. We believe that God works through these means. The same way that Christ worked through things like mud and spit to heal, Christ can work through these things also. We also have examples like from Acts 19:12 where someone uses a rag that touched the apostle Paul to heal someone. These saints were so full of God's grace, that even touching their bodies is enough to disperse blessing.
