the abrahamic god really is kind of inherently male the way the story goes something like giving life and then demanding tribute in return for forgiveness for a debt for that free gift

@krankheit while I have the similar belief that the atman (soul/fundamental self) agreed to be cloaked in maya, creating all discrete beings, before suffering as a result of illusory discreteness, I dont think life is one "repay our debt to God" but is one of "do what God wants and cleave to Her/Him because God is amazing". anyway God only granted us *separate* existence, but our actual true existence along with all beingness is fundamentally axiomatic and timeless, being as we are all brahman. also surrendering all things good and bad to God is a form of yoga, especially surrendering the fruit of action.

@georgia this still feels rapey to me but definitely less so idk. the world religions give up a lot of agency even when there are hints of truth in them

@krankheit almost all religions have patriarchal overtones even shaktism isnt immune
