thinking_cirno tbf the protein equivalency caps certain meats at a factor of 1.0 bc the body cant use excess amino acids of certain types.

@kaia since u sometimes wondered about vegan diet and protein sources^^ the study says though it looks very different if u look at processed vegan food like sausages etc

@georgia @kaia yes but there is also a biological reason to it. the smaller the animal the less energy is used for "living". cows are extremely inefficient for farming while insects are very efficient.

@georgia @kaia directly eating the animal feed (mostly soy) is ofcourse the most energy efficient....

@georgia @kaia btw i learnt some buddhist monks in tibet eat only yak. bc it is most efficient for them.

they believe killing=sin
every animal is worth the same.

so killing 1 yak = lots of meat but only 1 sin
killing 1 chicken = little meat but also 1 sin

they basically optimize their sin per kg

I doubt there isn't enough land.
It's more a logistic issue due to how the current logistics are made to centralize everything.
