alright guys, what email provider should I use before finally self hosting

@georgia purelymail was brilliant last i used them tho they do charge a fee but i remember it being like $20 a year or something

@georgia i mean, personally id look into them a bit first, but it is a really very nice web service, pity i lost my login to the other one i assume its not hooked up to that credit card anymore or i hope so at least. come to think of it wait maybe i can get back in

@georgia Yeah one of my favorite things about Migadu is that their pricing is usage-based so it's way cheaper than most of the competitors for normal people

@georgia I’ve heard bad things about self hosting an email server with a lot of other servers gray-listing anything not mainstream

@georgia @scathach iirc: blatant building code violation, no electrical safety, no working fire suppression system, in-use batteries just stacked on storage shelves… they were begging for that to happen

@georgia yea i wish self hosting was a bit easier but im just not into it even if i have a domain. im slowly moving to disroot although im also open to suggestion

@georgia @Lars you can use free stmp relays to make things work, which sucks to use an external tool but still offers you much more control managing your own email server
