gosh i went from polemics against "impersonalists" to polemics *by* impersonalists. one guy calls jnana "speculative knowledge", the other refers to a "bhakti cult". don't you guys realize you all want the same thing and will achieve it one day???

both view the others practice as a not totally useless but avoidable step in the path to final realization. the madhva-gaudiya believes that impersonalists will always fall down if they dont proceed to bhakti yoga, while the kevaladvaitin views worship of saguna brahman/Ishvara as a means of gradual realization which will become full realization in the light of jnana yoga (through devayana).
