maybe im wrong but it seems the chief enemies of most of human history were rajasic qualities-- lust and greed and anger and arrogance. such people, with a healthy dose of secondary tamasic ignorance, threatened all of mankind. but the chief enemy of this century seems to be tamasic qualities-- indolence, mindlessness, apathy, intoxication. of course, tamas on a mass scale is more dangerous than rajas.
