@georgia i had that for years and a low carb diet fixed it completely (assuming you get enough fiber to not be constipated)

@meowski my PCP/psychiatrist recommended keto diet for mental health stuff, shes even redpilled enough to doubt the serotonin theory of depression. I was impressed. still not giving up carbs though.

@georgia the highly refined starches and sugars are inflammatory and there is a major gut-brain connection with neurotransmitter regulation. if your gut as chronic inflammation it can have systemic effects. you could benefit just from shifting to whole grains and eliminating the ultra processed refined sources

serotonin plays some role in emotional state, but yah the theory of blocking reuptake fixing depression, i'm skeptical about that too. i think depression is typically more metaphysical and spiritual and needs to be addressed at the root not masked with drugs

@meowski hmmm switching to whole grains will probably be what I do when I go back to being vegan or lactovegetarian.

@georgia that's fairly easy, just choosing whole wheat flour, brown rice, rolled oats etc instead of the refined sources, and a limited amount of whole fruit instead of table sugar and HFCS.

@georgia Having survived rectal cancer without chemo or radiation ONLY because it was caught at stage 1 where they could just cut it out; I'd recommend you get that scoped and soon!
