@whirly IDIOT
if you want the parslay flavour, but have the unfortunance of soapy parslay flavor on tongue via genetics, then you can try Coriander seeds, ground up. (coriander is the same as parslay but more intense), and the ground up seeds have a lot less of the soap flavor chemical in em
i use coriander seed powder quite often, but have super strong soap flavor from its or parsley's leaves

@whirly are you sure that wasn't coriander?

@whirly (unless you are unlucky and have more than one taste receptor genetic mystery, ground coriander SEEDS dont contain the soap/rot flavour chemical, unlike its leaves, and parsley's leaves, and cilantro's leaves)

@whirly @Dionysus looks like parsley to me

an assumption: could be a moment of using more fresher parsley (ergo with more flavor) (selfgrown and/or fresher than usual?), which should have more of the soapflavor chemical in it i think? i cant tell you for sure, as ive never tested this because they are intensely soap-flavored to me and i dont like eating soap so ive never bothered to find out

but you might be able to test that

@whirly did the parsely by any chance have a root that looks like a carrot or parsnip?

@whirly @Dionysus the self grown one, i think will be MORE soapier because it will be fresher and more fragrant
but if thats the case then that would be good to know too
