I wonder if this person is a pretendian. If I ask Mi'kmaw people I know, will they recognize this person? I don't know why normies love trusting academics who claim to be native. Claiming a contemporary term like 2 spirit is a red flag.
Secondly, Indigenous people aren't a monolith. It's so insane to me that so many people completely disregard the distinct practices of several cultures in order to satisfy their own narratives.
People can be weenies all they want about the circle of life and how humans have primarily lived for millennia as omnivores, but at the end of the day Indigenous people are not causing overconsumption and deforestation.
