There is a new ceasefire deal on the table, in exchange for returning their hostages. What will the homies say about refusing to accept a ceasefire proposed by the and ? Or maybe ceasefires are only good if likes them.

Edit: Correction as accepted the deal thirty minutes ago and is negotiating their surrender, per

@lucy The fact that we still have apologists out here shouldn't surprise me, especially considering how well appeals to emotion work on a lot of people, but they still kinda do.

@NoBeret IDK. There's a reasonable chance that ' acceptance was fake, they've played chicken with ceasefire deals before

@realcaseyrollins im not supporting either "side" just pointing out the hypocrisy of israel calling for a ceasefire just now. for all i care they all can get nuked. israel for their invasion and consequential genocide and palestine for being islamic fundamentalists. like, just because i have 0 sympathy for people who'd kill me for ideological reasons without any remorse doesn't mean i have to celebrate the existence of a shithole like israel either?

@realcaseyrollins @NoBeret

There's no ceasefire.

Hamas uses residential areas, hospitals and schools, like human shields. They used to think the Israeli's won't attack them there, but after that last raid it's pretty clear that everyone who aids Hamas is considered a combatant.

Biden (Obama) hasn't done anything right his entire term, why would he start now?

@truthbait @NoBeret heavily insinuated that the deal includes ' surrender:

> Hamas accepts a U.N. resolution backing a plan to end the war with Israel in Gaza and is ready to negotiate details

I could be wrong but hasn't always offerred a ceasefire if returned the hostages and surrendered? Pretending that invaded just because they're meanie meanie racists makes you look kinda silly.

> israel for their invasion and consequential genocide

ahaha not the genocide conspiracy theory lol

Maybe they've been doing it for ages, I still need to do research of that end, but I'm talking about the conspiracy theory that the way that the responded to the declaration of the constitutes a genocide.

It's revealing that none of the neighboring countries want anything to do with this fight.

@magicalthinking @NoBeret They're not combatants, they're basically hostages. has reportedly constantly kept Palestinians from fleeing targets so that they die, the scenario here is likely very similar.

Per international law, those civilian deaths are on ' hands.

@realcaseyrollins you can't have the cake and eat it too. zionists want that land millions of non-jewish people are living on and have been for generations. so they treat them as noncitizens, relocate them to make way for their growing population, fund an extremist militia to use as a means to invade in small steps until they're all gone. it's less frowned upon then a holocaust-tier genocide because it happens gradually and "we're just fighting terrorists". none of that is speculation or secretive so how is that a conspiracy theory?

@lucy allegedly lol but yes, I knew you were changing the subject there

I'm surprised you didn't try to make the case that the has been perpetuating a genocide in during the at least, most supporters are willing to at least attempt that

@lucy Eh

I generally don't like the state of but I do support their right to exist (within bounds, like they shouldn't be encroaching into the just because Palestinians don't have formal armed forces there) so I think that makes me a Zionist

I think it's only 'zionist' if you support Israel's ethnostate. II believe you're just realpolitik about it.

@lucy Context shouldn't be ignored entirely, but either all history matters, or none of it does. Ancestral claims to land are stupid, but if we're going to use the "well we were here first argument", then the land should go to either the Canaanites or the Jews

For me personally, states should just keep the land that they have and not use war to get more. Which is why I think should stay out of the , they are essentially stealing Palestinian land in that particular case.

@realcaseyrollins no you misunderstood, i don't care if "the arabs" or "the jews" where first, i don't care. I'm talking about people alive and living there today. israel's population is mostly immigrants

@sun @magicalthinking @NoBeret We will see. In all honesty, so long as Palestinians continue to exist in , there will probably be violence there against Jews. It is likely that after is gone, Palestinians create another radicalized group there that does the same thing, and probably knows this.

At the same time, the people there should have at the very least the opportunity to use peace rather than violence.

@maija @magicalthinking @NoBeret Losing a war isn't the same as being genocided lol

@realcaseyrollins @magicalthinking @NoBeret is a wartime genocide any less a genocide? civilians are considered off limits for a reason
1

@maija @magicalthinking @NoBeret Hmm okay I need to dig into the details of how the was conducted then. I'm still wayyyyy back further than that in my research on this topic.

But I don't think that responding to violence against you constitutes genocide, in most cases

@realcaseyrollins @magicalthinking @NoBeret jews invaded palestine. palestinians didnt want them to steal their land as a jewish nation. there was a bunch of small skirmishes from both sides. it build up a bit but was mutual. so then the jews decided that oh they wont go along with our plan? wipe them out. and they tried. and theyve been trying. and overwhelmingly successful
when someone is that grossly opressive you cant help but take any means necessary. terrorism is like guerilla fighting in this context, its sad but its necessarily to have any standing against a superior power. basically every revolution in history has had elements of terrorism because of this

@maija @magicalthinking @NoBeret

At what point would you say that Jews began "invading" ? I'll make a note to look out for evidence to that end in my research.

@realcaseyrollins @magicalthinking @NoBeret late 1800s. this is basic common objective knowledge as these zionists came in from europe and the like. though most tensions came with the mandate in 1917 where the british pushed this.

@maija @magicalthinking @NoBeret Late 1800s, interesting. I'm not too far from there in my research.

Just wondering because I do know that Jews started migrating back to in 1808 and there didn't seem to be any major issues by the mid 1800s

@NoBeret @magicalthinking lol

I think "who was there first" is a stupid argument even though I think we all can agree that is the ancestral homeland of the Jews. The point of my research is to make up my own mind about the legitimacy of the establishment of the modern state of .

So this deal was etched by the yesterday:
https://news.un.org/en/story/2024/06/1150886

The deal has three phases to end the :

1. Exchange all female hostages and wounded Jews for some Palestinian prisoners, temporary ceasefire

2. Return of all remaining hostages, permanent ceasefire, withdraws all troops

3. Reconstruction in (not sure what this means)

2

I generally am not a fan of exchanging violent Palestinian prisoners for some hostages, but if it will result in all of ' hostages being returned and the ending, I think it's probably worth it.

@Electronwarrior Before does? 🤭

But in all seriousness, I think whatever "reconstruction in " is supposed to mean will be key. If is allowed to remain and acts up, of course the will respond, and rightfully so.

Wierd that you think it's so laughable when it is the stated position of the longest serving, and current Prime Minister 🤔

Looking forward to a full quote or video of the press conference that was held in , 's reporting here seems quite brief and truncated.

Listening to 's press conference in now, at 14:21 he actually says "We are determined in the coming days to, again, try to work this [out]", so the is actively planning to continue to negotiate with on this.
