@nyx @monkey @BloodBecoming they basically ruined it. but I can say from experience: the people currently saying techies are ruining san francisco are quite literally the second generation of techies who ruined it in the 2000s, not even the first generation of techies who ruined it in the 1990s. they are all wealthy ingrate hypocrites. they priced out the bohemians, the hippies, the gays. they won't even build affordable housing. they currently are complaining because they priced out even the ability of their poor hired help to live nearby.
