please use kde or xfce theming instead of whatever fruity window decoration you like in your gayass flatpak. openbox is fine too. but not gnome.

@georgia gnome is actually pronounced "genome" and the reasons the apps look like that are because they have an extra chromosome

edit: it's actually a hate crime to discuss how gnome apps look

@georgia@netzsphaere.xyz gnome apps control the full window look so they look like that regardless of if they're a flatpak or native

@feld isnt the main idea behind gnome to provide a streamlined experience between mobile and desktop. who fucking needs that.

@georgia @feld It was all the rage years ago and what came out of it was gnome 3 and windows 8.

@phnt @feld gnome 3 is such a downgrade from gnome 2/MATE its really not even funny. and windows 8 sucks too. except windows realized that it sucked and made windows 10.

@georgia I don't know, is it? I can't run Gnome apps on Android or iOS so I don't know what theoretical "mobile platform" they're targeting

@georgia and also KDE/Plasma supports big screen (TV) down to mobile devices too but doesn't have this problem

@anemone @georgia You can theme gtk unless it is libadwaita, the issue is that flatpak does not properly work with system themes. You need to also install the same theme as a flatpak.

Besides that, there is no use case for theming anyway.

@phnt @anemone >there is no usecase for theming
*loud incorrect buzzer*
themeing is comfy

@georgia @anemone @phnt my experience with theming was super annoying regardless of DE so now I stick to default theme + changed colors

I wouldn't know, I've been using the same theme for like 5 years now.

@phnt@fluffytail.org @georgia@netzsphaere.xyz you could mount the system themes in the flatpak as well but that's not really what im talking about. the issue is that there's no way to make gtk apps match kde's theme (vice versa is even worse Qt apps in gnome are truly horrific due to gnome's CSD bullshit)

@mischievoustomato@tsundere.love @georgia@netzsphaere.xyz @phnt@fluffytail.org my experience with theming is that there's no point because every user made theme looks significantly worse than breeze or adwaita

@anemone @phnt @mischievoustomato i agree with that, but i like icon themes that have a lot of icons. and i like conky.

@phnt @anemone @georgia @mischievoustomato One thing I like about Breeze and its derivatives is the cursor looks really nice compared to GNOME's super classic look.
