@sun @georgia @kaia I get what you're after, just made an offhand comment. There's no problem with trying to get new people to join but it might be difficult to find people who want to be in this narrow area between two sides of annoying. To me fedi always felt like a place that people seek out and not the other way around.
It's a complicated environment and few are willing to listen to you after they see something they don't like from some other server. Maybe you should have the server rules on whatever landing page you're directing people to.
