kinda fucked up that when one package is proprietary the whole ooperating system is vitiated. more free isnt bad, it just could get better.

@georgia If one package is proprietary, that's not a problem, as well you just delete the package and then the OS is free.

But it's never just one - as soon as the evil sort manage to get one proprietary program in the door, they don't stop - they keep adding more and more, until you've ended up with a kernel that is >51% proprietary software and an OS with so much proprietary software, that the amount of proprietary software seems to dwarf the amount of free software.

@Suiseiseki debian is mostly free software still though. at least it was last time I used it

@georgia I should really do a tally of the proprietary software and size and then compare it with the extensive free software repo.

I wonder how far such proprietary bloat extends.

@georgia I use virtualbox rather then qemu because doping materials with the right impurities makes them stronger.
