I unironically think Singapore's caning is one of the most effective correctional sentences of any justice system in the developed world. Jail has become a badge of honor for criminals, but getting your ass whacked bloody raw with a cane while you scream in agony will never be anything but an absolute humiliation.

@Hoss I like what some andine amerindians do, where they make the convict walk through a few hundred meters of street with the whole town whipping them with branches and whips, and sometimes stoning them too if the crime is too big. The convict just has to make it to the other side and that's it, but it won't stop until they cross the area.
