rn I'm running devuan within bedrock but I plan on abandoning my meme distro ways and going back to plain debian soonish. it just werks

I've tried a tonne of distros and never really saw much reason not to use something that just works like debian or one of the *buntus personally, I'm sure there's some valid use case for other things but it's all irrelevant to me and I think beyond the concern of the vast majority of computer users.
