I'm just a czech trying to find his place in the federated web.

Matrix: @takom:matrix.org
@lucy This is a thing I prefer pleroma for. Lain makes it very clear it's a part of a federated network of servers, and reccomends a handful of them, at the cost of convenience for the user in having to pick one. I appreciate that very much.

It's a completely different philosophy from Gargron taking fedi codebase, propping up his ruby-nightmare on top of it (seriously though, interpreted language for a social network?), and tries to recruit people into the Junta of Mastosoc. "Don't you even dare to speak of other instances or you'll get beaned. Did I mention it's a nazi-free twitter I built with my own two hands of an opressed jewish boy?".

Still, under the extremely shitty management of his wannabe totalitarianism, he still brought a good deal of people to fediverse, many of whom started their own instances. (let's not mention that some of the people he brought in and made mods on his instance had been harassing minors, one of them insisting they need to suck their girldick for social justice). Mastodon did become a boost of life fedi needed in the end.

I think similar is going to happen with Gab. It's once more going to bring some spotlight to fedi, from gab users themselves or from outside. Plus it's taking a large userbase estabilished elsewhere and introducing it to fediverse, which doesn't really deprive fedi in any way.

Congratulations to on federating, becoming the new largest fediverse instance.

I'd been told their team is going to port the features of Gab onto their fork and add new ones, so I'm eager to see how it will develop.

@louisoft01 @jg o fug
then again I guess it was to be expected.

I can somewhat respect Stallman for actually being one who contributes (well, used to) to a common effort of building anything, unlike most socialists and communists who are commited to destroying to seek gains in the ruins, but I do hate how he holds his contributions to Linux above anyone else's.

@fitheach
"it just so happens another European party did the same thing in 1926."
Actually not really, this wasn't a walkout, but they turned their backs.

And it just happens that many left wing politicians did the same on Václav Klaus, the former czech president, for being sceptical of the lisbon treaty.

In other words, you are making links to the NSDAP because of a very loosely similar political gesture, while ignoring the exact instances of that gesture that had been happening in the european parliaments for decades, and even more infantile acts, both of which I have posted in the thread earlier.

The selectiveness and loose connections you are making make you look like you are drowning in your own confirmation bias, and would be more akin to a conspiracy crackpot.

Lastly, I have not heard of the exact instance you are talking about, but calling the siren soundbite "extreme elements" is laughable, as they are fairly commonly used as a soundbite, and was most likely something the sound guys had on hand rather than something BP would have chosen by hand.

@lerk I'm glad to see she's taken the time from crying at an empty parking lot to conjure up more bullshit.

@Deiru That does indeed look pretty neat. I do like the DIY aspect of the dactyl though

@Deiru Holy shit that Dactyl thing is wild. But I've been in the market for a split keyboard and this looks very interesting. Do you live somewhere around central europe so I could come over and try one or something, when you're done with it? Thanks for the tips!

@fribbledom Or hey, how about booing speeches they don't like? That's a big step up in infantility. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SJzRa7HWVqs

@fribbledom I really can. Too bad you are only critical of it when people you disagree with do such things, as walking out, even when being adressed by the heads of their member countries, and generally acting unruly had been the standard for pro-european politicians for decades. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gJAthagbT_A
