its a queer and beautiful thing that hinduism which is popularly and I would say falsely known to be polytheistic has vibrant streams of monism where "nothing truly exists but (One) God". (advaita/ekam)

funny how in islam according to quran and hadith God and His creation are very separate (for instance an orthodox muslim would never say man is in the image of God) but Sufi sages and saints saw the truth that is His total permeation of creation. really shows that mystical insight transcends dogma.

personally I reject the common pairing of panentheism with pantheism and pandeism. panentheism is perfect, pantheism and pandeism are quite flawed.

@nerthos I believe that God reveals His law and His word through different religions, through prophets, seers and the revelation of the saints. almost all religions are valid bhakti. when I say the constitution should not be treated as a divine text I dont mean it shouldnt be followed nor do I mean that a nation of many creeds should be replaced by one creed. but sure grab the "youre a minority" low hanging fruit.

@nerthos man-made laws are arguable, highest dharma is inarguable. to regard any document besides a divine document as infallible and totally beyond reproach is akin to regarding it as supramundane.

@nerthos nah its idolatry to regard a man-made text as coequal to a divine one.

@georgia Every Sikh I've ever met was a chiller who stood up for people. I can't say the same about any other religion, not even mine.

playing as a mage seems really fun because unlike with priests where the main consideration is are they evil/undead you get to really play against each monsters resistances and weaknesses. and you get to easily enchant items. however I dont know how I could live without the remembrance and restoration spells...

religious people can disagree but often they think I'm going to hell forever whereas I almost never think theyre going to a hell in their next life
