@unmind Brahman transcends good and evil but this isnt in like a "neither good nor evil and both good and evil" kinda way, its deeper than that. part of calling Brahman "sat" is not just calling it existence or truth, its calling it good, with the assertion that only goodness truly exists and evil is illusory.

@technolyze @sathariel I'm not a christian but I think jesus was one of many avataras sent and to be sent down to Earth to promote righteousness. He died for three reasons imo.
1. so he could be resurrected, showing the triumph of God over natural forces like the burning bush, and showing believers that they too could conquer death (through bhakti yoga)
2. to amplify his message of universal love by dying for his friends
3. because it was Gods will to start a religion that promotes the bhava of God as savior / suffering servant, creating christianity which would lead many people to dharmic conduct and eventually to liberation

@technicallydifficult it took a huge miracle to make me believe in God and even then I didn't act like God was real, just some abstract thing that governed everything. but God is both very personal and impersonal and I realized that dramatically. I'll tell you my story after God changes my heart if you like.

@sathariel karma yoga is what youre thinking of, the path of action. deliberately self-inflicted suffering doesnt expiate anything, but suffering inflicted by the world burns up bad karma. thats how hell works! if people who are used to getting bad shit from the universe didnt get some reward for their suffering it wouldnt be a fair system.

mom momsgendered an amazing he/theylooking creature at the grocery checkout line. meanwhile i was pretty sure he was an early transition trans man so I nearly hit him (note hes like 20) with a sir but it felt like self-indulgent vicarious sirtisfaction so I chickened out. next time though I will be strong.
