the notion that there are a variety of eternal rewards of differing rank is just another form of eternal punishment. wouldn't you feel punished if you got something less and could never get something better despite being fully contrite?
the concept of a "final prophet" seems to me to be a form of cessationism--and cessationism sucks! but of course its true purport is likely "i get the final say, no one can reinterpret or contradict me. if they say they speak from God, they are liars". there's a final everything of course because humanity has an end, but we're not nearly there yet.
esoteric traditions that assert absolute oneness not merely as the source but as the true reality of all things (like trika) embody the highest knowledge. esoteric traditions that assert duality (like mandeism) embody ignorance mixed with some knowledge. esoteric traditions that assert highly specific systems of plurality (like valentinism) are the worst sort of mental masturbation. this is why "mystical" and "esoteric" are poor appellations. only some mysticism leads to the truth, leads to God.

the fact that concupiscence means both "strong desire, especially lust" and "the tendency of man to sin" is quite telling. the bondage of desire is the source of all suffering.
i wish sabellianism (one hypostasis, three proposon) were still common. i see the neo-platonic concept of a hypostasis as being very similar to the advaita vedantic svabhava, and of course there is just one--God! He is the supreme Consciousness, the supreme Soul, the One without a second!
modern orthodox/catholic christians (including miaphysites and "nestorians") all have extremely similar views of the trinity and of the nature of Jesus with the differences being mostly attributable to not using a precise/common language.
