In serious need of a hug
Why do I want my liver to be eaten by a foxxy lady?
Typos are a spook

"Not the worst person on the instance"
@mia ohhhhhhh. It shipped with a 9v battery adapter. Maybe it's supposed to protect against idiots jamming the battery against the terminals the wrong way around

i'm prob just too dumb to figure out what it's supposed to do

really, i don't get why this diode is there. Was wondering if it's to protect the usb from higher voltages on the dc in but in this diagram you can see that's not the case. It just seems to be a rectifying diode on a dc input

i know you write schottky with sch, but i can't get myself to not write sh in english

@twinspin6 @eal @poni unless i make a full bridge rectifier out of schottky diodes ig

@twinspin6 @poni @eal that'd be over a volt of voltage drop on my 6VAC input tho

lmao, this psu is just a diode followed by 2 ldo regulators in a row

@poni @twinspin6 @eal the buck converter i tried to use for my current project doesn't like the half wave rectifier i put in front of it sadly. Maybe if i throw more capacitance in front of it...

@poni @twinspin6 @eal was wondering if it's just step down. Really not hard to make a psu like that in this case ig

the rectifier in front is just getting a break

did you know that most pc psus run just fine on dc voltage?

> dc in
> has a rectifing diode
???
Not that i'm complaining since i wanna just run ac into that but still

When desoldering something the first step is always to add more solder

Just put 3F supercaps on input and output lmao (sadly the supercaps i bought aren't rated for 9V)

Do I just grab bigger caps? it has a 100uf electrolytic cap already

Ig this random buck converter can't cope with the fluctuating output of my rectifier even with decently sized capacitors

made a non-functioning psu for converting bicycle dynamo output to 3.3V
Broke some plugs on the bicycle's wiring
Luckily had everything needed to repair it from making the psu
