i'm glad reporters have finally caught up to the issue of child exploitation and rape on pornhub, it's only something feminists have talked about for years.

@Mr_NutterButter it's been a problem for years, and they have been extremely resistant to taking down content without litigious threats. only recently did credit card companies cut ties though.

@pernia @promethea syndicates exist to protect workers in absence of a central state. anarchy doesn't mean no organization whatsoever, it's just organization and hierarchies within them would be voluntary. you aren't born into rule.

@orekix @pernia @promethea anarchism is definitely half baked and i admit my own quixoticism, the latter part about a state being necessary that anarchists don't want to call a state is true also. the difference imo is such an association would be more voluntary, a true consent of the governed.

@orekix @pernia @promethea i don't envision a peaceful transition or coercion to collectivism, but rather a calamity where people band together by necessity in small groups and form alliances. small city states of sorts, but interconnected with technology (which probably wouldn't be on par with technology in a centralized industrial society but would suffice)

@orekix @pernia @promethea if a society becomes totally preindustrialized without seizure of private property (or even after, just a new landed aristocratic class will be created) a sort of fuedalism or fiefdom will likely result, yes. that's why i put my hopes that technology can be used for good, to connect the erstwhile disparate and foster good will in a decentralized manner. it's naive perhaps, but i think a failure to realize our interconnectedness is responsible for much of humanities woes.
