@scathach @nyx watch all the practical engineering videos while you can still learn from them and start lots of projects you don’t need to finish, just to get a feel for things
having enough surface-level knowledge and a bit of experience means you know where to dig for solutions and can synthesize ideas most people would not think of because they are used to being overspecialized cogs in the machine.
also consider that the library will be inaccessible once the internet is gone. you won’t be the only one looking for books when everyone figures out that basic necessities no longer materialize on store shelves and hospitals and pharmacies don’t have infinite stock, and some people will definitely take advantage of that.
make friends with resilient people who have seen things die and know how to stay focused and optimistic. you don’t want to be near the polycules when everyone realizes they’re just another useless mouth to feed and there isn’t anyone left to cry to.
