@georgia@netzsphaere.xyz You shouldn't care too much about people, you'll always find yourself on the giving side and never the taking side if you put any self worth there, whereas if you just focus on what you're doing and let people come and go without attaching, the quality of people you around will be better.
Parasites love someone who attaches and there are a lot more of them than there are altruists.

@apollo in the beginning I was the altruist and she was needy, then we were both needy but I was needier, then we were briefly happy and both genuinely selflessly loved eachother, then she was the altruist and I was the parasite but still loved her, but for the past two years its been a transactional loveless relationship with me largely giving and her largely taking, me expressing periodic bitterness at this arrangement, and her getting mad at me for confiding my bitterness in others, even accidentally.

Either way it's probably best to just not care.
