@georgia FedEx, UPS, and DHL have reliably demonstrated that privatization is generally just a bad idea. You get equal or worse service for like 30x the price, as a consumer. Granted, USPS is heavily subsidized. Yet, still. It provides a publicly useful service which the free market would otherwise gouge over.
@sun@shitposter.world @adiz@mtl.jinxian.casa @georgia@netzsphaere.xyz it's a retarded argument anyway. it's a service, not a business. No one says the police "run at a loss" because that would be an idiotic thing to say
@georgia FedEx outright won't deliver packages sometimes even if you've paid for it to be delivered by a particular date. I waited all day once for a driver to arrive, front door open, and they marked it as "attempted to deliver, nobody to sign, will reattempt later" or whatever, which was a bold lie. I had to call their primary location and demand the driver actually show up. @coolboymew
@georgia I just had a package get lost in a USPS distribution center for a week
That's why everyone is using FedEx
@georgia no joke I've had boxes from overseas be faster than USPS lately
